As an important part of the automobile safety system, the windshield seal has multiple functions such as waterproofing, sound insulation, and shock absorption. Through technological innovation, Hengcheng factory has established a full process technical system covering material research and development, production process optimization, and quality inspection, providing the industry with high performance windshield sealing solutions.
In terms of raw material selection, we use EPDM rubber as the basic material. Its excellent weather resistance, aging resistance, and resilience ensure the reliability of windshield seals in extreme climates. In response to the needs of new energy cars, we simultaneously developed a composite formula of TPE and silicone rubber to achieve weight reduction of windshield seal while maintaining sealing performance. Through the dynamic vulcanization process, the problem of interface combination of different materials is effectively solved.
In terms of production technology, Hengcheng introduced an intelligent production line: the internal mixer is used to accurately control the dispersion of the rubber compound in the raw material mixing stage; microwave preheating technology is used in the preforming stage to improve the fluidity of the rubber compound; the vacuum vulcanization system realizes micro-foaming structure control to ensure uniform density of the windshield seal; the water curtain cooling device avoids stress deformation through gradient cooling; and the laser trimming equipment controls the dimensional accuracy within extremely high standards. The whole system integrates the production management system to achieve real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment of process parameters.
The quality inspection system implements the international standards of the automotive industry and is equipped with professional equipment such as three-dimensional profile measuring instruments and high and low temperature circulation boxes. Each batch of windshield seals must pass salt spray tests, opening and closing fatigue tests, and temperature difference impact tests. In response to the special needs of new energy vehicles, an electromagnetic shielding effectiveness test module is added to ensure that the windshield seals do not affect the operation of on-board electronic equipment.
In the field of environmental protection technology, we have developed a sulfur-free vulcanization system and a low-volatile material formula, and the windshield seals have passed a number of international environmental certifications. The residual energy recovery system is used in the production process to significantly reduce unit energy consumption, and the efficiency of waste recycling and reuse has reached the industry-leading level. The digital workshop realizes visual control of carbon emissions throughout the process, and the carbon footprint of a single windshield seal is greatly reduced.
With the popularization of smart cockpits and panoramic skylights, Hengcheng is developing multifunctional windshield seal with integrated wire grooves, as well as variable-section adaptive structures that adapt to curved glass. The rheological simulation model established through industry university research cooperation can accurately predict the mechanical behavior of materials under complex working conditions and provide data support for the design of windshield seals. These technological innovations enable us to continue to meet the higher performance requirements of the car industry for windshield seals.
